BOUCHIER PARTNERS WITH THE ATHABASCA TRIBAL COUNCIL CULTURAL FESTIVAL, PROVIDING ELDERS PROGRAMMING

(Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo, AB, Treaty 8 – July 20, 2023) - The Athabasca Tribal Council (ATC) is enthusiastic to partner with Bouchier to provide Elders Programming at the ATC Cultural Festival. Indigenous-owned and operated, Bouchier supports many inspiring events and community programs in the region. The Festival is excited to collaborate with such an active and engaged business with a strong drive for community investment.

“Bouchier has time and again proven themselves to be business and community leaders when it comes to Indigenous-owned businesses giving back and participating in the community,” said Chief Allan Adam, President of the Athabasca Tribal Council and Chief of Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation. “Our Elders are our teachers, guides, and cultural knowledge keepers. I think it is a great fit to have our Elders honoured by Bouchier during the ATC Cultural Festival.”

The Elders Programming presented by Bouchier will include transportation via golf carts on the Festival grounds, and an Elders Tent where Elders can see the main stage activities, enjoy tea and bannock, and have their meals served. The program will also include crafts and activities that are fun, engaging and rooted in Indigenous culture.

“Celebrations like the ATC Cultural Festival are fundamental to build Indigenous pride and awareness of our people and culture. As we celebrate 25 years of operation, this partnership, and the opportunity to sponsor the Elders Tent in particular, was important to Bouchier,” said Nicole Bourque-Bouchier, CEO & Co-owner of Bouchier. “Through the festival, we want to thank, celebrate and honour the contributions and knowledge of our Elders who play a key role in keeping our cultural alive.”

“The Elders Programming is an essential part of the ATC Cultural Festival,” said Karla Buffalo, Chief Executive Officer of the Athabasca Tribal Council. “Having a partner like Bouchier who understands the cultural significance of honouring the Elders and who is committed to actively supporting the Festival is the perfect fit to providing an uplifting and celebratory experience to each Elder.”

The Festival will take place September 15-17, 2023, at Snye Point Park in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo in Northern Alberta on Treaty 8 territory.
