We invite you—everyone in the Waterways community—to join us for this free, family-friendly celebration of Indigenous culture taking place right in your community! Featuring cultural demonstrations, the Traditional Village showcasing Indigenous food, hand games tournament, and more. We’re committed to keeping Waterways residents informed and minimizing disruptions. There is a list of frequently asked questions and answers below, as well as a form to submit additional questions or concerns.

Questions and answers

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about the ATC Cultural Festival.

  • In previous years, the ATC Cultural Festival has been at Snye Point Park. This year, however, there is construction at that park. 

    ATC has collaborated with the RMWB, the Indigenous communities and our partners to move the ATC Cultural Festival to a suitable location. Together, we have made changes to the ATC Cultural Festival and its operations to suit the new location at J. Howard Pew Park. We are excited to share Indigenous culture with our neighbours and want to work together to have a successful ATC Cultural Festival and minimal impact on the neighbourhood.

  • The ATC Cultural Festival will take place from September 11 to 14, 2025.

    Set-up of tents and the ATC Cultural Festival site will begin on September 5. 

    Tear-down will be completed by September 18, 2025.

  • Admission is completely free! Everyone is welcome, Indigenous, non-Indigenous, and all ages! The ATC Cultural Festival is a family-friendly celebration of Indigenous culture, including cultural demonstrations, public teaching, the Traditional Village with Indigenous food, a hand games tournament, and much more.

  • No. All ATC Cultural Festival programming will end by 8:00 p.m. each night. The site will be secured overnight by professional security guards.

  • Yes! All public amenities, including the playground, will remain open and accessible throughout the event. All spray parks in the region will be closed by the RMWB following the Labour Day weekend, before the ATC Cultural Festival begins.

  • To minimize the impact on the Waterways residential area, general parking will not be available on-site. Instead, we are offering a free Park & Ride shuttle service for all attendees.

  • Shuttle locations and schedules will be shared in advance through our website and social media. The service will be frequent and accessible, making it easy for everyone to get to and from the ATC Cultural Festival site comfortably.

  • Limited parking in Waterways will be available only for Elders and ATC Cultural Festival facilitators. Volunteers will be present to guide eligible individuals to these designated spots.

  • Our team of volunteers, supported by clear road signages, will help direct ATC Cultural Festival traffic away from residential areas to respect the community and ensure a smooth flow.

  • There will be minimal impact on local traffic. Traffic control measures will be in place for event access and safety, and all residential roadways will remain open. We’ll share specific access details closer to the event.

  • By helping to reduce traffic and sharing shuttle details with guests, you’re already making a difference! We are deeply grateful to the Waterways community for your kindness and cooperation.

  • ATC will have a dedicated waste management team on-site to ensure the park and surrounding area remain clean throughout the event. Extra bins and cleanup crews will be in place.
