Angel Marten

A proud Mikisew Cree artist, Angel has been practicing her craft for five years. She was first taught by her mother and further inspired by watching artisans at ATC Cultural Festival events, especially during beaded hat workshops. Her Cree identity is deeply rooted in her work, drawing inspiration from talented family members such as her mother, Marlyn Simpson, and Aunty Cookie Simpson, who were both taught by their mother, Cecilia Simpson. Through her art, she continues their legacy, honouring her culture while contributing her own creativity to the tradition.
